Living donation is facilitated by the transplant programs. For non-directed donation, the CSC is responsible for running the allocation recommendation at the request of the transplant program. The allocation recommendation includes only recipients from the living donor’s transplant centre.

Clinical Services Coordinators (CSCs) use this list to offer the living donor’s organ to the target transplant program.

Running an allocation recommendation

The steps for running an allocation for a non-directed living donor are the same as for deceased donor allocations.

  1. Go to the living donor profile (as per Navigate the living donor list), then select Organ > Allocation / eOffer on the left side of the page.

  2. Select the Run Allocation Recommendation button.

The system compiles, filters, and ranks all eligible organ recipients from the living donor’s transplant program.

After the allocation is run, the Allocation/eOffer section expands to show new buttons and to open up additional details, including the allocation recommendation.

Expanded Allocation/eOffer section

  • Allocation Details with the unique Allocation ID and other allocation-specific information.

  • Access to Checklists.

  • Identifying Information

  • Allocation Recommendation Listing with a ranked list of recipients from the donor’s transplant program.
