Intended audience: csc manager

The allocation algorithm uses filters to exclude recipients from allocation recommendations based on individual transplant program policies (See About allocation exclusion filters for details).

A CSC manager can override exclusion filters as required, on an allocation by allocation basis. CSCs must ask their manager to apply the overrides.

Overriding allocation exclusion filters

  1. As a CSC Manager, go to the donor profile, then select Organ > Allocation / eOffer on the sidebar.

  2. Select the Override Exclusion Filters button from the Allocation Controls.

  3. The system presents a window showing the transplants' exclusion filters that apply for this organ.

    • The filters are shown as selected, meaning they will be applied on this allocation.

Example - Override exclusion filters window

  4. Deselect the filters to be turned off (deactivated) for this allocation.

  5. Select the OK button.

    • Select Cancel to return to the previous step.

  6. The system asks for confirmation that these filters are to be deactivated.

Example - Exclusion Override confirmation pop up.

  7. Select:

    • OK to continue.

    • Cancel to return to the previous step.

  8. As either the CSC manager or the CSC, select the Run Allocation Recommendation (or Re-Run Allocation Recommendation) button and follow the normal steps.

The system generates an allocation recommendation that includes recipients who might normally have been excluded.

  • The Special Considerations in the Allocation details area on the recommendation indicates which filters have been overridden.

  • The recommendation includes a flag for recipients who appear on the listing because a filter was disabled.
