About pancreas after kidney (PAK)
Use the PAK (pancreas after kidney) option to credit the pancreas recipient with waiting time from a prior, completed kidney transplant.
When you select Yes for PAK, the system backdates the date the recipient was added to the pancreas waitlist to the earliest of:
Dialysis start date for the recipient’s most recently completed kidney transplant, or
Transplant date of the recipient’s most recently completed kidney-only transplant.
The PAK option is available only if the pancreas recipient has completed a kidney transplant. You can select PAK before or after the recipient is added to the pancreas waitlist.
