Intended audience: recipient coordinator transplant program admin

For recipients who require a lung transplant, recipient coordinators enter lung specific information in the system.

  • Mandatory: Secondary specification.

  • Optional: Various measurements.

This information is used during the offer process, when transplant programs assess offers of donated lungs.

Enter lung specific information when:

  • Setting up the lung transplant journey, based on the recipient’s referral package.

  • New test results and information about the recipient’s lung health become available (at any time during the transplant journey).


Adding or updating lung specific information

  1. Go to the recipient’s profile, then select Lung > Lung Specific Details on the sidebar.

    • The General Info fields are populated with any previously saved information.

  2. Enter or edit the Secondary Specification for the type of lung transplant (left lung, right lung, both, etc.)
    NOTE: A Secondary Specification must be entered before the journey can receive a medical assessment decision of To Be Listed.

  3. Enter or edit any of the measurements or other information under the General Info fields.

  4. Enter any general comments about the lung transplant journey in the General Comments field.

    • These comments appear in the Allocation Report and the Waitlist Report for transplant programs to view.

    • These comments will appear in any clustered journeys.

  5. Select the Save Lung Specific Details button.

    • To cancel, select the return to previous page icon or browse to any other page without saving. Any unsaved information is discarded.

The system saves the entered information.

You can add or revise lung specific information at any time during the transplant journey, even after the recipient is on the waitlist.
