Intended audience: scc admin transplant coordinator

Transplant programs can appeal to the Special Case Committee (SCC) at TGLN to make limited overrides to recipient information. The SCC can add extra waitlist days, override a liver recipient’s exception points, override a recipient’s medical or paediatric status, or reinstate wait time for a journey.

The SCC reviews each appeal, decides whether to accept it, and determines which system values should change to achieve the desired effect.

An authorized user at TGLN overrides system values as determined by the SCC.

Submitting an appeal to the SCC

Once a recipient is on the waitlist, submit documentation and evidence supporting their appeal to the SCC.

The SCC reviews each application to make a decision on whether an exception should be granted. If approved, an authorized user at TGLN will apply the changes to the system.
