Impact of un-clustering an organ journey
Intended audience: recipient coordinator transplant program admin
This reference topic provides detailed information about what happens “behind the scenes” when an organ cluster is un-grouped.
Area | Impact |
---|---|
Journeys | The cluster is separated into individual organ journeys that are managed separately. |
Holds and suspensions | All holds that were applied to the organs while in the cluster are end dated. The system then re-applies holds back to the individual journeys, as appropriate. |
SMC Override (for liver journeys) | If there is an SMC Score override on a cluster with a liver, that override is removed and an email is sent to TGLN’s Special Case Committee mailbox. |
Allocation | Allocations will include each eligible waitlisted journey separately, based on their own priority. |
Wait time | Each journey’s Listing Date reverts to the date the journey was first added to the waitlist, so that the organ journeys' wait time will be as if the cluster never existed. |
Canada Transplant Registry | System pushes a waitlist status to the CTR so that the recipient can be considered for each organ separately in out of province allocations. |
Donor Acceptability Criteria | The cluster's donor acceptability criteria is applied to each journey. |
General Comments | The general comments from the cluster will be retained on each of the separated journeys. Users will be notified to revise comments as appropriate. |
Waitlist user interface | The option to make a cluster is available. |
Recipient profile > Referrals and Transplants | The Ontario Referrals and Transplants table presents a list of this recipient’s Ontario organ transplant journeys. The Clustered With column indicates that the organs are not clustered. |
